Lara Stone
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lara stone
maybe its because we share the same name
or maybe because she proves perfection exists

Book books books books books
I started writing a children's book this morning.. when at 6 o'clock i realized i was no nearer to falling back to sleep.
The book is about a boy who plays with lego until a late age and grows to build bigger real buildings
I'm thinking little french boy who wears a beret and dreams his lego buildings will one day turn into the eiffel tower
its meant to be an inspirational tale
much like where the wild things are
however i think it needs much work until i compare the two
the illustrations work like a one of those books you flip really fast to see the moving image
which is a bit exciting

I'm driving down to Melbourne tomorrow morning with the fam
which means a lot of stopping for McDonalds
A plan which doesn't fit with my new diet... sadly
It does give me a lot of time to re-read The Picture of dorian Gray and Dracula which are two of the extension english texts for next year
and also happen to be two of my favorite books

I dont think i'll be doing much blogging in Melbourne
due to an inundation of family members, shopping and lack of internet connection
soo... Merry X-mas
hope Santa is generous to all !

Costumes / X-MAS / Style

I was shopping not too long ago and found an amazing costume/novelty store
the location of the store is a secret
but it has the most awesome things
Clown shoes, Skeleton costumes, Elton John Glasses,
Fake blood and Piercings
It's a little slice of Gold
Rosie and myself got our friend Molly a breakfast at Tiffany's cigarette holder
which was a bit cool.

X-mas is in 3 days and I'm going down to Melbourne in 2 on Christmas Eve
I still have so much to do,
I need to Finish shopping for my brothers present, buy film, get myself something special to wear on christmas
I was thinking either my backless Camilla and Marc or black Scanlan and Theodore
but i am undecided
I'm going to New York in 6 months and already have a massive list of things i want to get
Urban Outfitters, Top Shop, Zara,

I love Filippa Berg's outfits below
the inspiration for Lover's Scared hearts collection
She has a pretty cool blog too...
if you can read Swedish.. i just like looking at all the pretty pictures

How to rip tights like a pro

Get a whole load of sick tattoos
Wear leather on top of leather
Plenty of accessories and an edgy clothing label
Its the Erin Wasson way

Four days until X-mas

On the eighth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHH !!!! i  opened my early X-mas present today, and am now the owner of a Dina F+ Camera.
I've been hysterically running around the house with it attached to my hand all night trying to fins something to photograph.
With my highly shy  ( not to mention un-photogenic ) family i was left to take photos of the garden and my doll house
they wreak of inexperience
hopefully i'll get better.. seeing as though i've read the manual cover to cover
I went to Fitness First this morning to have my introductory class
I'm tres excited to start burning the calories
X-mas X-mas X-mas
what else does anybody have on their mine?
besides my new camera i am in awe of some of Bill Henson's new shots he was commissioned to take by Scanlan and Theodore for their 10th Anniversary
The girl is stunning, much like Henson's other subjects

Sleeping Beauty

Yesterday i came home from Duke of Ed, had a much needed shower and plate of pesto pasta and just as i was ready to have a nap got a call from a friend saying that she had a spare ticket to the ballet.
We went to see sleeping beauty, which was amazing. The costumes and story line was really great and would have been better if i could keep my eyes open from exhaustion. It was made up of fairies from the four seasons all trying to stop a constant winter. I didn't so much love the ballet as much as i just loved looking at how other people had dressed up. It was opening night so people came in floor length dresses with their husbands in tux's.
I have still to see where the wild things are because its been out for three days now and i still haven't.
I've been listening to the soundtrack heaps which is really cute
and for a week i've just been drawing the beast over and over again

i spy...The Wild things

One word AMAZING. I really loved this film, there's something about it that makes you want to cry, i guess it just brings back memories from childhood for everyone as where the wild things are is just one of those books that everyone knows. The film was a bit cute and funny, this morning on the TV they were giving a bad review on it saying that it wasn't really suitable for children or adults, but i disagree. The cinema was nearly empty when i saw it today (as the holidays have not yet begun for everyone), besides myself sat a father with his two children, another adult boy and a kissing couple, as i was walking out i heard the father ask his children what they thought about it, one of the kids didn't like it but the other one did. So i guess its just up to personal opinion, and i personally loved this film! The soundtrack is really sweet to, it was made by Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and it just goes. Spike Jonze did a really great job on this film, and it was quite cool because most of the film was filmed in victoria in australia so a lot of the scenery was quite familiar.
I think my favorite wild things would be Carol and Douglas.

Let the wild rumpus start!

The Legend of Gainsbourg

I don't think there has been another woman who I have idolised more than Charlotte Gainsbourg. The daughter of French singer-songwriter, actor and director Serge Gainsbourg and English model, actress and singer Jane Birkin, she was destined for success.

From a young age Charlotte was exposed to the controversial works of her father, appearing in a duet with him titled "Lemon Incest".

Her elegance and commitment to her art is inspiring.

Charlotte has recently won the Best Actress prize at the Cannes Film festival for her role in the new Lars von Trier film Antichrist where she plays a grieving mother. The film is one of Trier's darkest including scenes which many critics have deemed to be torturous and borderline porn. The film exudes the typical features of a Trier film including his use of a shaky hand-held cam which can be seen in other works such as Dancer in the Dark starring Bjork.

The legend of Gainsbourg lives on.

Finished

Just Finished Chamber of Secrets
and it was amazing
not as amazing as The philosophers stone, however was still very good
I have Duke of Ed this week for three days, which will be hell
imagine school camp and times it by the largest number you can think of
oh well, its always shit at the beginning before you have to go and then you laugh about it at the end
if you don't drown or get hit by a tree in the wilderness :S

For a while now i've been trying to remember this film i first watched with my cousins and hated
and after i outgrew my stubbornness i proceeded to bore them by watching it over and over again
the other day i was searching through blogs and a girl did a post about it
its called the craft and is the most magnificent witch/cult movie ever
not that i have seen many
watch it now
i am just about to run to the video store to get it
Enjoy your Monday

I spy . . an interesting 24 hours

Formal finally came and went yesterday and in the early hours of this morning after a lengthy year of lunch time talks surrounding issues of dates and dresses. Formal itself was a plethora of bad music and flashing cameras, pleasantly followed by afters where many exemplified a louder, more outgoing personality.
Thanks to all our friends who made the night as pleasant as it could be

i spy . . . a delightful challenge

The holidays have begun today and i have set myself a goal to read all the Harry Potter books before returning to school in 2010
I have just finished the Philosophers stone
which was incredibly delightful and continued to surprise me even though i have on numerous times heard the plot and its complications
tomorrow is formal so I'm guessing not much reading will be going on however thursday will be the beginning of The Chamber of Secrets
I really don't understand the hoo-ha surrounding the twilight series
i only read twilight but my experience with Harry potter shows a clear delineation between the plot and the books' execution
Stephanie Meyer is a messy writer in comparison
I enjoyed Josh Thomas' remark on the finale of Good News Week last night
he replied to Georgie Parker after she commented on New moon with
"I'm really disapointed that kids won't experience some of the more classic novels such as Harry Potter"

Good Day

I spy ... a search

I am in the search for the perfect hat
I composed a x-mass list for my mum the other night and discovered that one thing i truly want is an epic hat. . .
along with many extravagant items.. this year featuring expensive Jewelry, a trip to London, a pony or an English bike all of which i will most definantley not find under the tree on the 25/12/09
but my search for the greatest hat alive has since begun
and all i have found are a few wide brimmed sun hats and black bowler hats however the hat i want is a boater hat
You see the Shore boys wear them like they are imprisoning their faces and heads in a mask of straw
but i am constantly in awe of there fashionability
so until i find a Shore boyfriend, whose hat i can borrow/ steal permanently
I must start scrounging stores both branded and vintage across sydney
any ideas of where to begin?

these are some of my favorite hats :
